Itapos;s so good to be able to relax with her, just to have fun and enjoy her company. Nobody there was going to wonder what we were doing holding hands, or judge the merit of our relationship. The concert was good, but the fun of the evening had more to do with her than with the music.

Irealized later that I was behaving very protectively of her, standing between her and the rowdy concert-goers and keeping the moshers back. Iapos;ve never really felt Iwas the protective sort; Iwonder whatapos;s changed in me. Perhaps she inspires me to it? As much as it is a silly macho trait, Ithink it is a positive thing in this case.

Iapos;m looking forward to the LARP. I just hope that things wonapos;t be awkward with her, or between the two hers; unfortunately, Icanapos;t imagine that they wonapos;t. She still hasnapos;t figured out that ... God, this is dumb, stupid pronouns... The other her isnapos;t angry or even upset. Well, only at me, that is.

Iapos;m finally back in school

I started last Monday. At least, that was the official start date. Ididnapos;t actually get to start classes until yesterday, so I was a week behind in all three courses, but thankfully there wasnapos;t much work to catch up on, so Iapos;m nearly finished with everything (which is a good thing, because its all due tomorrow by 11:55pm).

Currently, I am attending Virginia College Online in their Business Administration Bachelor of Science program.
Iapos;m currently taking Introduction to Business, Critial Thinking and Learning Fundamentals. They arenapos;t difficult courses, just very time consuming. Iapos;ve probably already spent a good 7 hours just trying to catch up in work, not to mention the study hours Iapos;m attempting to put in. I needed a break from the mundane and decided to open up a live journal account to voice my happiness for the event to which has just occurred

On a different note, work is finally picking up (kind of). Its been really boring here lately and now that the new fiscal year has arrived, things have started to speed up again. To better explain, I work the supply field, and in the supply field, when you have no money, you really have nothing to do. Well, we got our money, now Ihave a job...spend it And thats exactly what Iapos;ve been doing, however certain restrictions have prevented me from spending it as quickly and effectively as Iwould like, but no worries, it will all get taken care of shortly :D

Personal note, my wife is sick with Bronchitis. Has been for the last 3 days. Hopefully she gets better soon, but it looks like its going to be another visit to the Emergency Room this evening to see if we canapos;t take care of whatapos;s going on.

A buddy of ours got kicked out of his home the other night, so heapos;s going to be staying with us for a while, until either A)He gets back on his feet or B) his family comes down and brings him back to Pennsylvania. Whichever he decides.Either way is fine with us. We enjoy his company, and will miss him if he leaves, but we enjoyed the times we got to spend together.

Thatapos;s all for me for right now. Iapos;m going to go see if I canapos;t knock out another two hours worth of work real quick-like.

Brain is in verbal mode today.

Iapos;m playing around trying to think of apos;fossil wordsapos; - words which have been preserved in an older (or dialectically specific) form in one niche of the language while evolving into a more modern and familiar form elsewhere. This seems to happen sometimes when the fossil word is part of a stock phrase which people get used to saying.

Examples:

Raring to go. apos;Raringapos; is just rearing, as in the sense of apos;rising upapos; like a rearing horse.

Beck and call. Beck is a truncated form of apos;beckonapos;.

Beyond the pale. A pale was a fencing stake, as in the word apos;impaleapos;.

Unkempt. It just means uncombed. Kemb = comb.

Plum duff. A duff is just a dough, but pronounced like tough instead of toe.

Sassy. Itapos;s nothing but the word apos;saucyapos;. And apos;sassapos; is sauce, as in, donapos;t give me no sass.

Any more?

Lately I have not really had time to really review whatI have been reading.Starting a new job, spending time with my girlfriend, and my obsession with the rpg Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion have all done their parts in keeping me from blogging as much as I usually do.

Books I have read recently.

The Fourth Bear by Jasper Fforde.A sequel to The Big Over Easy, which starred the NCDor Nursery Crime Division. Lead by Jack Spratt and Mary Mary they had to solve a mystery of Goldilocks getting murdered and the escape of the deranged, and superhuman known as theGingerbread man.Yes, I said the Gingerbread Man. :) These books are hilarious and I wish Fforde would write more of them. Rating 9.0 out of 10.

V for Vendetta by Alan Moore.A great and dark graphic novel. Not quite as good as the Watchmen, but very disturbing none the less. He really knows how to write a dark story. Now I need to go watch the movie again and really see how they did. Rating. 8.5 out of 10.

Ghosts in the Snow by Tamara Siler Jones. An interesting idea of having a mystery novel set in a fantasy world. I can appreciate this, cuz I have an idea or two abouta similar type of novel. The story worked really well as you really felt for Dubric as he was the only ones that saw the ghosts of the murdered girls as he tried to solve the crime.A very enjoyable book.Rating. 8.0 out of 10.

An Evil Guest byGene Wolfe (book club book). I really wanted to like this book.It was labeled Cyberpunk meets Lovecraft and I think that was a mistake to put that on the cover. It really puts expectations before you even start reading. I was enjoying the book for the first 3/4 of the book, and then story took an unexpected detour that completely took me away from the story. One of the main characters was pushed to the side and it never recovered. Rating. 5.0 out of 10.

That is all for now.HOpefully I will be able to get back into the swing of things soon.

Today was my first day being back at the preschool after having not attended for a week. I had been out of school, work, and going to my internship for an entire week due to an illness. I probably missed a lot, which is unfortunate, but I had a good day back.

I found it very cute today that several of the children noticed that I had not been present for a while and actually asked me where I had been. I told them I was sick, to which some of them actually expressed concern and many said they were happy that I was back. Iapos;m really beginning to appreciate going there more and more, especially as I get to know the children better and they get to know me. Iapos;m sure itapos;s not many jobs where you could be out for a while and upon your return, you would actually be told me several people that you were missed. =]

Basically my responsibilities are remaining the same as I continue to go. Iapos;ve been trying to take more initiative to compensate for the lack of actual instructions Iapos;m given. For example, today while the children were preoccupied with something else, I cleared off the tables, put a few things away, and stacked up all the chairs for the end of the day. It was a small thing to do but in general just an improvement in my performance as an intern,I suppose.

I gave my evaluation form to my teacher the the Friday before last. I would have asked for it today, but I saw it on her desk and it was not completed. Iapos;ll remind her about it soon if I donapos;t get it back, since Iapos;m pretty sure Iapos;m supposed to turn that in soon?

Itapos;s hard to think of things to write, since mainly just about every day goes similarly and I do the same things. I will, however, try to occasionally update with anything important or new I can think to add.

Seriously, MTV is the strongest proof for the existence of the devil, hell, and pointy things. Must write to take my mind off the pain in my brain. Just 5 minutes though.

Dear general public, and especially fat people,
Tonight, I decided to go order a burger from the on-campus grill club restaurant. What do you want on your burger they ask. Look, it would take too long to relay the entire story, but the bottom line is you people put mayonaise on hamburgers, and it makes me sick. ketchup and mustard people. Mayonaise is for chicken, and a whopper. Whoppers are licenced under burger king, and it is illeagal to try to make one yourself. And itapos;s still disgusting. Putting mayoniaise on a greasy beef patty. Picture it. It isnapos;t appetising. Youapos;re getting fat. And the people that make my burgers constantly assume I want mayonaise on my burger.
Mayonaise is for a chicken sandwhich, not a beef patty.

Fatties.

does integrity mean

"Mr. Cogitoapos;s Soul"
Zbigniew Herbert

In the past
we know from history
she would go out from the body
when the heart stopped

with the last breath
she went quietly away
to the blue meadows of heaven

 Mr. Cogitoapos;s soul
 acts differently

during his life she leaves his body
 without a word of farewell

for months for years she lives
 on different continents
 beyond the frontiers
 of Mr. Cogito

it is hard to locate her address
she sends no news of herself
 avoids contacts
 doesnapos;t write letters

no one knows when she will return
 perhaps she has left forever

Mr. Cogito struggles to overcome
the base feeling of jealousy

He thinks well of his soul
thinks of her with tenderness

undoubtedly she must live also
in the bodies of others

certainly there are too few souls
for all humanity

Mr. Cogito accepts his fate
he has no other way out

he even attempts to say
--my own soul mine

he thinks of his soul affectionately
he thinks of his soul with tenderness

therefore when she appears
unexpectedly
he doesnapos;t welcome her with the words
--itapos;s good youapos;ve come back

he only looks at her from an angle
as she sits before the mirror
combing her hair
tangled and grey
